Prof. MALİK VOLKAN TÜRKER

Born in Istanbul in 1979, Türker completed his undergraduate education in Mechanical Engineering at Kocaeli University, Faculty of Engineering in 2000. He completed his first Master's degree in Management and Organization at the Institute of Social Sciences, Marmara University in 2001, followed by a Pedagogical Formation at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Marmara University in 2004. Türker obtained his second Master's degree in International Quality Management from the Institute of Social Sciences, Marmara University in 2006 and completed his Doctorate in Management and Organization in 2009. Türker was appointed Assistant Professor in 2012, and in 2017, he successfully passed the assessment and oral examination for Associate Professorship in Management and Strategy, earning the title of Associate Professor. In 2024, he was promoted to Professor at the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Business, Marmara University.

From 2001 to 2003, Türker worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Social Sciences, Marmara University. From 2003 to 2012, he served in various capacities at the Department of Management and Organization, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Marmara University, first as an instructor and then as a lecturer with a doctoral degree. Between 2012 and 2014, Türker worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management and Organization, Faculty of Business, Marmara University, where he was also appointed as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business in 2012. In 2014, he became one of the founding members of the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Business, Marmara University, and served as the Head of the Department for nearly a year. Türker also managed the Distance Education Application and Research Center at Marmara University for about a year between 2017 and 2018 and continued his role as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business until 2020.

During the preparation process of Marmara University's Strategic Plan for 2007-2011, Türker served as a rapporteur and a member of the publication committee. In the preparation process of the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan, he acted as a senior committee member and served as the project coordinator for the project titled "Determining Marmara University's Capacity and Core Competencies with a Resource-Based Approach."

Türker specializes in human resource management, leadership skills, innovation management, management and organization, total quality management, communication skills, body language, negotiation techniques, trainer training, and time management, providing both academic and corporate training. He has presented and published papers and articles at national and international conferences on these subjects.

Türker has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at various higher education institutions, including Marmara University, Galatasaray University, National Defense University, Kırklareli University, and Altınbaş University. He has also provided corporate training, project collaboration, and management consultancy for numerous private sector organizations such as OPET Petrolcülük A.Ş, Türk Telekom Academy, Turkcell Academy, Kariyer.net, VW Tamaş, Vitel Veri İletişim A.Ş., IDA Living Technologies, Sinpaş Seranit, DGS Printing Technologies, and SYK Customs Consultancy, in addition to public institutions like the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Turkey Insurance, and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Health Inc. for the past 17 years.

Türker is married and a father of two, and his foreign language proficiency is in English.
