Prof. ALİ MURAT KIRIK

Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Kırık was born in Istanbul in 1986 and graduated as the top student from Özel Bilgi High School in 2004. In 2008, he completed his undergraduate studies with first-class honors at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. He began his academic career in 2009 as a research assistant at the same faculty and completed his master’s thesis titled “IP Television Broadcasting Technology” in 2010. In 2013, he earned his Ph.D. with a dissertation titled “The Transition from Television to the Internet in the New Media Age and the Position of Youth in Social Networking Sites in Turkey.”

Since 2024, he has been serving as a professor at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. He also serves as the Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design. His academic interests include artificial intelligence, social media, digital communication technologies, forensic informatics, and internet broadcasting. He teaches and conducts research in these areas.
