Biyografi

Nur H. Orak, Marmara Üniversitesi Çevre Mühendisliği Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Disiplinlerarası araştırma geçmişine sahip olan Dr. Orak, çevresel sürdürülebilirlik, doğa-temelli çözümler, çevre sağlığı ve çevresel risk değerlendirmesi alanlarında çalışmakta; çevresel istatistik, matematiksel modelleme ve karar destek mekanizmaları gibi yöntemlerden yararlanmaktadır.

Dr. Orak, Türkiye ve ABD’de çeşitli mesleki topluluklarda liderlik pozisyonlarında uzun yıllara dayanan bir deneyime sahiptir. Halen Amerikan İnşaat Mühendisleri Derneği - Çevresel Su Kaynakları Enstitüsü (ASCE-EWRI) Öğrenci ve Eğitim Konseyi’nin yönetim kurulu üyeliği ile Kadın-Su Nexus’un yönetim kurulu üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Ayrıca ASCE-EWRI Kongre Yönlendirme Komitesi üyesi olmuş ve ASCE Convention’da ilk uluslararası muhatap üye olarak yer almıştır.

Orak accepts ASCE Convention's invitation to be a corresponding member

Nur H. Orak was invited by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as the first international corresponding member to the Technical Program Planning Committee to organize the ASCE Convention, the most comprehensive event held every year. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the USA’s oldest engineering society representing more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries.
