Prof. MUSA ÜCE

BIOGRAPHY

Musa ÜCEwas born on November 15, 1963 in Kozaklı district of Nevşehir. He attended primary school in the village where he was born, secondary school in Kozaklı Secondary School and high school in Kayseri High School. He received his undergraduate education at Marmara University, Atatürk Education Faculty, Chemistry Teaching Department between 1982 and 1986. He started his graduate education at Marmara University, Institute for Graduate Studies in Pure and Applied Sciences, Chemistry Education Department in 1986. During this period, he worked as a chemistry teacher in various private schools. He completed his master's degree in 1989 with the thesis titled “Determination of the Dissociation Constants of Some Organic Acids”. He completed his military service in Ankara Mamak Communication School and as a teacher soldier in Bulanık district of Muş between 1990 and 1992. He worked as a science teacher at Ümraniye Mediha Tansel Elementary School between 1992 and 1994, and started his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Chemistry Teaching at Marmara University, Atatürk Education Faculty in 1994. In 1993 he started his doctorate education at Marmara University, Institute for Graduate Studies in Pure and Applied Sciences, Chemistry Education Program and completed his PhD with his dissertation titled “Voltammetric Study of Crown Ether Phthalocyanine and Metal Complexes” in 1999. He continued his academic career as a Lecturer Doctor between 1999 and 2003, Assistant Professor between 2003 and 2011, Associate Professor between 2011 and 2017, and became a Professor in 2017.

Musa ÜCE is still working as an academician at Marmara University. Having many national and international articles and papers in the field of Chemistry Education, ÜCE has undertaken many professional and administrative duties during his academic life. He served as Vice Chair of the Department, Member of the Faculty Board, Member of the Faculty Board of Directors, Member of the Scientific Research Project Pre-Evaluation Committee, Member of the Faculty Advisory Board, Member of the Institute Advisory Board, Member of the Institute Ethics Committee and Vice Dean. He is married with two daughters.
