Prof. ALİ RIZA ÖZKAYA

Biography

Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza ÖZKAYA graduated from Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty Chemistry Teaching Department in 1984 and started working as a research assistant in the same department in 1985. He graduated from Marmara University, Institute of Applied Sciences and Technologies, Chemistry Master and Doctorate Programs, in 1986 and 1990, respectively. He worked as a research assistant at Ataturk Faculty of Education between 1985-1992, assistant professor between 1992-1998 and associate professor between 1998-2001. He started to work in Marmara University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry in 2001 and became physical chemistry professor in 2005, and still continues this position. He served as Deputy Head of Chemistry Department between 2001-2009 and Head of Chemistry Department between 2012-2015. Since 2013, he has been serving as the Head of the Physical Chemistry Department and Head of the Physical Chemistry Program. In the Marmara University Electrochemistry Research Laboratory, which was founded by professor Özkaya in 2012 and developed with the projects supported by TÜBİTAK and Marmara University Scientific Research Projects Committee, electrochemistry of phthalocyanine compounds, electrocatalysis, electrochromism, electrochemical sensors, electrochemical energy conversion and storage, and electrochemical cell/battery systems are among the ongoing research topics. Prof.Dr. Ali Rıza ÖZKAYA has an H-index of 32 with over 110 articles published in journals covered by the Scientific Citation Index, SCI. Due to these scientific studies, he was elected to full membership of Turkish Academy of Sciences by suggestion of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
