Gizem Acet Dönmez, who started her career as a research assistant at Marmara University, Department of Economics in 2018, is currently an assistant professor at the same department. She received her B.S. from Hacettepe University-Department of Economics; her M.S. from Gazi University-Economic Policy Program and also from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid-Master in Economics Program. She was awarded Jean Monnet scholarship by the European Union for her MS education at UC3M. She received her Ph.D. from Marmara University-Department of Economics (English) in 2023. Asst. Professor Gizem Acet Dönmez, who took part in the preparation studies of the Twelfth Development Plan of Türkiye as a special expertise commission member, also serves as the asisstant director of Marmara University's Non-Governmental Institutions Research and Implementation Center (STKAM). Her research areas are economic development and growth, poverty, regional inequalities, and applied econometrics. She teaches courses such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Regional Economics, and Growth and Development Economics.
