Welcome to the Experimental High Energy Physics Group of Marmara University

The Experimental High Energy Physics Group at Marmara University has been actively conducting research for more than 23 years at CERN in the fields of experimental studies and data analysis. Our activities are primarily carried out within the framework of the CMS experiment.

Our research interests include advanced hadron calorimeters and hadronic barrel calorimeters, focusing on their operating principles, performance studies, control systems, and upgrade projects. In detector physics, we particularly work on optimization and long-term stability of calorimeter systems operating under high-radiation conditions.

In addition to detector development, we are actively involved in jet physics studies, including:

  • Inclusive jet cross-section measurements

  • Jet Energy Resolution (JER)

  • Jet Energy Scale (JES)

Furthermore, within the HGCAL upgrade project, our group is responsible for the design of the Bias Voltage Distribution Boards for sensors and for the power distribution mapping of the HGCAL system.

Our group maintains a multidisciplinary approach combining detector development, electronics design, system integration, and physics data analysis.
