Prof. ÖZLEM DENİZ YILMAZ

She was born in Istanbul in 1969. She was graduated from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, the Faculty of Arts and Science at Marmara University in 1992. She started working at Marmara University, Turkic Studies Institute on 19 June 1992.

She completed her master’s degree at Marmara University, Turkic Studies Institute under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Emine Gürsoy-Naskali in 1995. Her master thesis was the Turkish translation of a piece of Kirghiz epic legend “Seitek” in addition to the preparation of its glossary and index. She completed her Ph.D. at the Department of Turkic Philology, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at St. Petersburg State University in 2004 with a thesis entitled: “Kategoriya nominalizatsii deystviya v sovremennom turetskom yazıke/Категория номинализации действия в современном турецком языке” (Category of nominalizations in Modern Turkish language). Her thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Victor Grigorjevich Guzev.

Dr. Deniz Yılmaz started working at Marmara University, Turkic Studies Institute as Assistant Professor on 30 June 2006. She is currently working as Professor at the same institute.
