Prof. NİLHAN KAYAMAN APOHAN

Biography

Prof. Dr. Nilhan Kayaman Apohan received her PhD degree in 1998 from Istanbul Technical University. She worked as an Expert Researcher in Marmara Research Center of TUBITAK for 4 years. She worked at the Conte Polymer Research Center of the University of Massachusetts as a visiting scientist during 6 mounts period between 1998-1999. In 2000, she joined to the Department of Organic Chemistry, Marmara University, as a professor. In 2013-2016, she served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She has been serving as the Head of the Department of Chemistry since 2015. In 2016, she established the Interdisciplinary Polymer Science and Technology Graduate Program. She has over 2000 citations in over 120 SCI indexed journals. Her H-index is 27. Her expertise includes polymer chemistry, synthetic polymer based biomaterials, biodegradable polymers, hydrogels, membranes, nanocomposites, UV cured surface coatings, Hybrid coatings, high performance polymer materials.
