Prof. HATİCE KÜBRA ELÇİOĞLU

   Prof. Dr. Hatice Kübra Elçioğlu was born in 1971 in Istanbul. In 1989, she graduated from Fevziye Mektepleri Vakfı (FMV) Private Işık High School. After completing Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy between 1989-1993, she started her Master's degree in the Department of Pharmacology, Department of Professional Sciences at the same faculty. Between 1995-1996, she received formal education at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine for one and a half years. In 1997, she completed her Master's Thesis titled "Investigation of a Possible Effect of Famotidine on the Intestinal Absorption of Enteric Coated Preparations" and started her PhD in the same year. In 2002, she completed her PhD thesis titled "Investigation of the Effects of Melatonin Application on Smooth Muscular Structures and Cavernous Tissue in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes Mellitus Model in Rats" at Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology, Department of Professional Sciences and received the title of "Doctorʺ (PhD)" from the Pharmacology Program.

 She worked as a Research Assistant at Marmara University Institute of Health Sciences between 1993-1996, as a Research Assistant at Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology, Department of Professional Sciences between 1996-2003, as a Lecturer between 2004-2005 and as an Assistant Professor between 2005-2012.

 Before becoming an Associate Professor in 2008, she worked in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Arthur Burnett at the Johns Hopkins Medicine Brady Urology Institute in 2008, where she observed cavernous nerve damage in rats and mice, intracavernous pressure measurement, and performed molecular studies such as western blot (protein determination) by homogenizing rat and human penile tissues. She also learned immunohistochemistry techniques.

  In 2012, she was promoted to Associate Professor and in 2017 to Professor. Between 2012-2015, she served as the Vice Dean of Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy. She is currently working as a Professor at Marmara University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology, Department of Professional Sciences.  Since 2018, Prof. Dr. Hatice Kübra Elçioğlu has been teaching Pharmacology courses at Istanbul Medipol University. In 2020, she was appointed as the Dean of Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy. Since 2012, she has been a Pharmacologist member of the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital. She is also the editor-in-chief of the 'Journal of Research in Pharmacy', the scientific journal of the Faculty of Pharmacy, a member of the editorial board of the Journal “Biilim Armonisi Dergisi”, and a scientific board member of the journal “ Türk Farmakope Dergisi”. In addition to these duties,  Prof. Dr. Hatice Kübra Elçioğlu has been serving as a full member in the oral examination phase of the Ministry of National Education's selection and placement exam (YLYS) for 2 years (in 2021 and 2022) and in the Ministry of Health Pharmacy Specialization Board (EUK) since 2022 with the appointment of the Higher Education Council. The professional organizations she is a member of are Turkish Pharmacology Association, Clinical Pharmacy Association and Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association.

 She has a total of thirty-four (34) articles, including twenty-one (21) SCI comprehensive publications, 7 of which she is the first author, published in international journals and thirteen (13) articles published in national journals on topics such as diabetes, endothelial dysfunction, cavernous nerve damage, oxidative stress and Alzheimer's disease, which are her main areas of interest.

Prof. Dr. Hatice Kübra Elçioğlu has 3 books titled "Eczacılar için Fizyoloji ˮ, " Diyabet Tedavisinde Önerilen Endüstriyel İlaçlar, İnsulin ve Bitkisel Yaklaşımlarˮ, "Eczacılar için Antidepresan Farmakolojisi ˮ, as well as 1 national and 2 international book chapters. She has supervised a total of 10 postgraduate thesis studies, including 7 Master's and 3 Doctoral theses. She has many national and international papers presented at congresses/symposiums, participated in many national courses and worked as a researcher and executive in many projects. She has been cited in many international and national scientific journals.

Prof. Dr. Hatice Kübra Elçioğlu is married and has 3 children.
