Asst. Prof. GÜRCAN ATAKÖK

Dr. Gurcan Atakok is an experienced academician with more than two decades of expertise in mechanical systems, focusing on manufacturing processes, machine design, measurement techniques, and computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM). His research interests also encompass vibration and acoustic analysis, metrology, and design optimization aimed at improving product performance and production efficiency.

Throughout his career at Marmara University, Dr. Atakok has held several notable administrative positions, including Assistant Manager of the Research and Application Center, member of the Adaptation Commission, and Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Technology. In these roles, he has contributed significantly to institutional development, quality assurance, and research infrastructure strengthening.

Dr. Atakök has authored and co-authored more than 60 journal articles and conference papers published in national and international venues. His scholarly work covers a broad spectrum of topics such as CNC machining, polymer composites, additive manufacturing, mechanical testing, and CAD/CAM-based engineering solutions. He continues to advance research and education in mechanical engineering with a focus on innovation and applied technology.
