Prof. ERHAN ÖNER

I graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering Faculty, Chemical Engineering Department in 1983. I completed my M.Sc. (1985) and Ph.D. (1989) in Leeds University, Department of Textile Industries (England). I have currently been working as a full Professor in Marmara University, Faculty of Technology, Department of Textile Engineering.  I lecture on “Quality Management”, “Colour Measurement” and “Textile Dyeing & Finishing”  in undergraduate courses; "Dyeing Theory”,  "Colour Measurement in the Textile Industry", "Sonochemistry", "Recent Developments in Textile Dyeing & Finishing" and "Instrumental Methods in Textile Industry" in the postgraduate courses.

I am the author of the book “Colour Measurement in the Textile Industry” and also the editor of the book entitled “Textile Dyeing and Finishing Laboratory Handbook for the Textile Dyeing & Finishing Plants” which was published by the Chamber of Chemical Engineers.

I worked as a member of the Executive Board in "Industry-University Cooperation Working Group" at the Istanbul Chamber of Industry between 1998 and 2001. I was the manager of Marmara University UTKAR, the International Textile and Apparel Technology Research and Application Centre between 2000 and 2006. I also served as a Board Member of the Project Review and Selection Committee at KOSGEB-IMES-KÜGEM from 2003 to 2007.

I am currently head of the Division of Textile Dyeing & Finishing in Faculty of Technology, Department of Textile Engineering at Marmara University.

I am a referee for several SCI publications, including “Textile Research Journal”, “The Journal of Industrial Textiles”, “The Journal of the Textile Institute”, “The Journal of Cleaner Production”, Fibers & Polymers, Cellulose and “Industria Textila” and also the national journals, including "Tekstil ve Konfeksiyon" and "Tekstil ve Mühendis".

My research interest includes all aspects of textile dyeing & finishing processes, the application of ozone, ultrasound and microwave technology in textile processes and colour measurement.
