Biography
Dr. Çiğdem Kalkan Aktan is a research assistant at Department of Environmental Engineering at
Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey. She has received her Bachelor’s degree in
Environmental Engineering from Marmara University in 2007. She worked as a
project engineer at Gezer Company between 2007 and 2008. After working as a project engineer she received
her MS and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from Marmara
University. Her current research interests include biological wastewater
treatment, environmental biotechnologies and wastewater reuse.
