Dr. Barkin Bakir Brief Biography Barkin Bakir is currently working as Assistant Professor at Marmara University in TURKEY. He had a postdoctoral research fellow at Western Michigan University/USA (WMU), Department of Manufacturing Engineering, during March 2015-Appril 2017. His research focuses was on Micro/Nano-Scale chip removal method with hybrid precision machining process and analysis of chip formation mechanism, geometry, and cutting mechanics of very hard and brittle materials, i.e., semiconductors and ceramics. He obtained his Ph.D. at Marmara University, Istanbul, TURKEY in 2012. His thesis investigated the effects of chip formation and geometry on surface roughness in milling. He also gathered experience in working as a research assistant in diverse research projects on manufacturing at Marmara University, where he got experiences more than ten years.
