Biography
Prof. Dr. Barış Çalli is a Professor of Environmental Engineering at Marmara University, Istanbul, Türkiye. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in Environmental Engineering from Marmara University and his PhD in Environmental Technology from Boğaziçi University. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Antwerp and was a Marie Curie Fellow at VITO, Belgium. His work focuses on anaerobic digestion and fermentation, biogas and biomethane technologies, and resource and nutrient recovery from organic wastes. His research integrates process engineering, microbial analysis, and dynamic modeling to address key operational limitations and advance waste-to-resource and biorefinery concepts.
