Özet:Demokratik toplum yapısının oluşumda önemli yükümlülükleri olan medya, toplumun iki temel unsuru olan kadın ve erkek temsilleri konusunda eşitlikçi olmayan yaklaşım içerisindedir. Medyadaki kadın ve erkek temsilleri, sosyo-kültürel yapı ile ekonomik sistem tarafından kurgulanan toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinden etkilenmektedir. Kadına çok daha olumlu ve özgürleştirici rol modelleri sunması beklenen medya, cinsiyetçi kadın temsillerine yer vererek, toplumsal yaşam içerisinde kadına yönelik davranış ve tutumların devamlılığını sağlamakta, mevcut statükoyu desteklemektedir. Gerçeklikle/doğrulukla olan bağlantısından ötürü en tarafsız görünen medya ürünlerinden olan haberde dahi gerek içerikte gerekse kullanılan görsellerde kadına yönelik cinsiyetçi yaklaşım dikkat çekicidir. Bu tez çalışması merkezine sağlık haberleri ve fotoğraflarını alarak, spesifik bir alana dikkat çekmekte, toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ve cinsiyetçi yaklaşımların medya aracılığıyla hangi biçimlerde sunulduğunu analiz etmektedir. Toplum sağlığını ilgilendiren ve okuyucu için referans alınabilen sağlık haberlerinde cinsiyetçi kodlar veya doğrudan ifadelerin yer alması, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğinde medyanın rolünü ortaya koymaktadır. Representation of women and men in the media, socio-cultural structure and economic structure is influenced by gender roles constructed by. The woman is expected to provide much more positive and liberating role models which the media, sexist behaviour and attitudes towards women in social life by giving a place to women, their representation in the continuity of the status quo supports. Reality/accuracy because of its connection with the content of media products, even the most apparently neutral, have the news from sexist against women it is noteworthy that the approach used in both images. Health news and taking photos from the centre of this thesis, the perception of gender and gender approaches and draws attention to a specific area through the media that is presented in a format which reveals. Community health concerns and health news that can be taken as a reference for the reader to take the place of codes or sexist in direct testimony, the role of media in gender inequality reveals.
