Özet:

Kuzey Kore Devleti'nin Güney Kore'yi topraklarına katmak ve kendi ideolojisini buraya yerleştirmek amacıyla 25 Haziran 1950'de başlattığı işgal hareketı bütün dünyada bir şok etkisi yapacaktır. ABD'nin öncülüğünde harekete geçen BM Teşkilatı bu haksız müdaheleye karşı üye devletlerden oluşturduğu bir ordu ile karşılık vermiştir. Barışı korumak amacıyla ilk defa dünya devletleri bir araya gelmiştir. Türkiye de bu savaşa gönderdiği 5000 kişilik bir kuvvetle savaşta aktif rol oynamıştır. Türk askerinin Kore Harbinde gösterdiği başarı ve kahramanlıklar uzun süre dünya kamuoyu ve resmi çevrelerinde konuşulmuştur. Türkiye basını sayesinde Türk Milleti de Kore'deki askerlerine büyük bir destek vererek yanlarında olduklarını göstermişlerdir. Kore'de patlak veren savaşın yeni bir dünya savaşına neden olacağı uzun süre tartışılmasına rağmen, bu savaş belki de yeni bir dünya savaşının çıkmasını önlemiştir. Savaş sona erdiğinde her iki taraf ta savaşın başladığı noktaya dönmüşlerdir. Yüz binlerce insan kaybına neden olan bu savaşta ta sınırların değişmemesine rağmen dünyadaki sıyasi dengelerin oturması açısından önemli bir sonuca ulaşmıştır. İstiklal Savaşı'ndan sonra herhangi bir sıcak savaşa girmemiş olan Türkiye, bu savaş sonunda yalnızlıktan kurtularak NATO'ya girmiş ve bölgesinde kendini daha güvenli hissetmiştir. Bu savaşta Türk askeri tarihten gelen cengaverliğini bir daha göstererek dost ülkelere güven vermiştir. ABSTRACT The militarty action that North Korea started on June 25, 1950 to take possession of South Korea and spread his ideology in there would stir a wave of shock all around the world. Led by the USA the U.N. reacted to this act of war with a force comprising of the troops from its member countries. For the first time in history governments from all over the world came together to restore and preserve the peace. Turkey too took an active part in this war by deploying a force of 5000 troops. The success and heroism that Turkish troops showed in Korean War was widely told with admiration in formal circles for a long time. The nation too gave considerable support to his soldiers in Korea through Turkish press. Although many feared that the Korean war could lead to a new world war it perhaps proved quite the opposite. At the end of the war both parties were at a point no different from the prewar status. Although the Korean War that caused loss of hundreds of thousands of lives did not bring about any changes in borders, it had a crucial impact on the stabilization of a new political balance in the world. As a consequence of the war Turkey, that had not fought a war after the National War of Independence, got rid of his isolation and was admitted into NATO; thus started feeling more secure in his region. At the war Turkish soldiers proved their gallantry once again and instilled trust in friends and allies.
