Özet:Bu çalışma orta öğretim kurumlarında öğrencilere gezi etkinlikleri yoluyla coğrafi kavram öğretiminin detaylı bir araştırmasını yapmak için hazırlanmıştır. Bir kapıyı zorlamadan açmanın en kolay yolu kapıya ait anahtarı kullanmaktır. Eğer anahtar yoksa çilingir, kapının kırılması gibi farklı, fakat kolay olmayan, insanı zorlayan yöntemler devreye girer. Coğrafya konularını da en sağlıklı ve kalıcı şekilde öğrenmenin yolu gezi- gözlem yöntemini kullanmaktan geçer. Çünkü bu yolla öğrencinin bir çok duyusuna hitap edilerek etkili, kalıcı ve doğru bir öğrenme ortamı hazırlanabilir. Öğrenilen bilgiler hayat boyu tazeliğini korur. Örnek bir insan gezdiği bir yeri hiçbir zaman unutmaz. Görerek öğrenmenin gizemi bunda saklıdır. Yapılan araştırmalar ve uygulanan anketler sonucunda orta öğretim kurumlarında gezi-gözlem metoduna müracaat etme oranı son derece düşüktür. Buna karşılık yöneticiler, öğretmenler ve öğrenciler coğrafya derslerinde uygulanması gereken yöntemin gezi- gözlem yöntemi olması konusunda hemfikirlerdir. O halde bu yöntem neden yeterince uygulanmamaktadır? Sorusuna verilecek en doğru cevap yöntemin; maddi sıkıntılar, çok zaman alması, yasal sorumluluklarının fazla olması, gezi öncesi, sırası ve sonrasında büyük bir planlama gerektirmesi gibi nedenlerden yeterince kullanılmamaktadır. Gelişmiş ülkelerde orta öğretim öğrencileri sadece yurt içine değil zaman zaman yurt dışına da geziler yaparak coğrafi kavramların sağlıklı öğrenmeleri yolunda büyük mesafe almışlardır. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığımızın gezileri yılda en az birkaç kez zorunlu hale getirmesi, yine bir fon oluşturarak bu faaliyeti finanse etmesi gerekir. Yönetici ve öğretmenlerin de bu yöntem konusunda hizmetiçi seminerlere alınması, bu yöntemin yaygınlaşmasını sağlayacaktır. Bu yöntem ne kadar yaygınlaşır ve kullanılırsa öğrenciler coğrafi bilgileri zorlanmadan görerek yaşayarak öğrenmiş olacaklardır. SUMMARY The study has prepared so as tu do a detailed investigation of the education of geographical concept through excursion activities at high schools. The best way to open the door is using the right key belonging to it. If there ins't a key, other different but not easy ways that bother man may be applied like locksmith or breaking the door.The method of learning geographical subjects in the healthierst and the most durable. Is the using of excursion and observation method. Thus, by addressing fo the student's many senses in this way a permanent and right education can be provided. The acquired knowledge can keep its freshness during life. As an example, a person never forgets a place he visited the mystery of learning by observing is hidden in this. According to the results of polls and investigations that were done the rate of the application tu excursion-observation method is very low at high school. Howceuer administrators, teachers and student s agree that the excursion -observation method should be applied in geography lessons. In this case, why is this method not being used enough? The best answer to this question is that this method is not being used suffienthy because of financial problems and legal resposibilities and because it takes lots of time and requires a well prepared planning in the beginning, during and after the excursion. In developed countries by organising trips not anly in their countries bat also abroad, high school students have improved well in learning geograpical concepts in a halthy way. Our ministery of National Education must require it necessarry to organize at least a few trips every year and finance this organisation by forming a fund for this. The invitation of directors and teachers to the seminars about this method will help the use of this method widely. The more widely this method is used the easier the students will lean geographical information by seeing and living.
