Özet:SON DÖNEM WALT DİSNEY ANİMASYON FİLMLERİNDE “ÖTEKİ”NİN TEMSİLİ Global sanat anlayışı, sanatı giderek farklı amaçların aracı konumuna indirgemektedir. Sanat, kitle kültürünü örgütleyen ideolojik araçlar vasıtasıyla nesneleştirilerek tüketime sunulur hale gelmiştir. Kültürün endüstrileşmesinde “boş zaman” ve eğlence, iki önemli araç olarak karşımıza çıkar. Eğlence söyleminin en belirgin olduğu alanlardan biri de animasyon filmleridir. Bu filmlerin boş zaman eğlencesi olarak görülüyor olması, eleştirel bilincin düşük olmasına sebebiyet verir. Bu sayede hakim güçlerin ideolojisi kitlelere kolaylıkla geçebilmektedir. Temsil, burada kilit rol oynar. Egemen söylem telkinlerini kurduğu temsiller vasıtasıyla kitlelere iletmektedir. Kitlelerin açıktan ve gizliden maruz kaldığı bu telkinler çoğu zaman sorunlu bir hal teşkil eder. Temsillerin en sorunlu olduğu alanlardan biri de “öteki”ne dair olan temsillerdir. Bu çalışma da sanat-ideoloji ilişkisinin en sıcak uygulama alanlarından biri olan animasyon filmleri üzerinden “öteki”nin temsili sorunsalını irdelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu kapsamda ele alınan animasyon filmlerini, animasyon dünyasının en “masum” görünümlü karaktere sahip Walt Disney yapımları oluşturmuştur. Çalışma ile amaçlanan, “öteki”ne dair kültürel üretimin nasıl bir görünüm arz ettiğini tespit etmektir. Varılan sonuç, egemen söylemin direktifleri doğrultusunda kurulup sunulan temsillerin sorunlu olduğunu tespit etmek olmuştur. ABSTRACT REPRESENTATION OF “THE OTHER” IN RECENT WALT DISNEY ANIMATION FILMS Global understanding of art, make art usable for diverse purposes. Art pieces become objects to consume by uses of ideological apparatus that organize the mass culture. In the course of industrializing culture, leisure and entertainment are the two important concepts. Animations films is one of the most significant areas that entertainment discourse is observed. These films are seen as an instrument of leisure and critical reflection about them is very low. So that ideological elements of power can easily be adopted by the mass. Representation plays a key role in this process. Dominant ideology indoctrinates the mass by using these representations. These open or close indoctrinations often cause problematic situations. One of the most problematic cases of representations is the representation of “the other”. In this study, we tried to discuss the problematic of the representation of “the other”, a hotly debated case of art and ideology relationships. The Walt Disney productions, that is seem to have the most “innocent” characters in animation world, is chosen for this study. The main purpose of this study is to reflect how cultural production about “the other” takes place. The result of this investigation shows us the representations that is produced in the direction of dominant ideologies intentions, is highly problematic.
