Özet:Adapazarı’ndaki sanayi faaliyetlerinin şehrin il olmadan önce de var olduğu görülmüştür. Adapazarı, Cumhuriyet kurulduktan sonra il olana kadar sanayi açısından Kocaeli’nin gölgesinde kalmıştır. 22 Haziran 1954 tarihinde il olduktan sonra sanayi faaliyetleri artmaya başlamıştır. Şehrin bulunduğu coğrafi konum sanayinin gelişimine olumlu etki olarak yansımıştır. Sanayi faaliyetlerinin ilk örnekleri Osmanlı Devleti’nin son dönemlerine rastlamaktadır. Bölgede sanayi ilk olarak bölgesel tarım ürünlerine dayalı endüstri biçiminde gelişmiştir. Şehir ve etrafında yaşayan azınlıklar ise, küçük el tezgâhları ve küçük işletmelerle sanayinin başlangıcında önemli bir rol oynamışlardır. Adapazarı’nda büyük ölçekli sanayi işletmelerinden ilki DE-TA’dır. Bu işletme daha sonra T.Z.D.K. adını almıştır. Diğerleri ise Advas, Adapazarı Şeker Fabrikası ve Uniroyal Lastik Fabrikasıdır. Bunlardan T.Z.D.K ilk zamanlarda orduya at arabası ve tekerlek üretmek amacıyla kurulmuştur. Bu fabrika daha sonra ülkenin önemli bir ihtiyacını karşılayacak olan traktörleri üretmiştir. Advas kurulduktan sonra yalnızca yurt içine değil yurt dışına da vagon, kompartıman vb. ürünleri üretip satmıştır. Şeker fabrikası da üretimi ile de bölge ve şehir için önemli katkılar sağlamıştır. Özel teşebbüsün de katkısıyla kurulan Uniroyal Lastik fabrikası yabancı sermayenin şehre yaptığı katkılardan en önemlisi olmuştur. Adapazarı’ndaki sanayi faaliyetleri sadece büyük ölçekli işletmelerden ibaret değildir. Bunların haricinde yüzlerce daha küçük ölçekli sanayi işletmeleri vardır. Bunlar da şehrin sanayisi için önemli derecede katkıları olan işletmelerdir. ABSTRACT Industrial activities in the provincial city of Adapazari were there before.After Republic was founded,Adapazari was overshadowed of Kocaeli until Adapazari became a city in terms of industry. On June 22, 1954, the industrial activities began to increase after it became province. The geographical position of the city where is located reflected positively in the development of the industry. The first examples of industrial activities coincides with the last periods of the Ottoman Empire..Firstly,the industry in the city was developed in the form of city agro-industry.As for minorities living in and around the city ,the small hand-looms and small businesses played an important role in the beginning of the industry. The first large-scales industrial enterprises in Adapazari is DE-TA.Later,this business was named T.Z.D.K.As for others,others are Advas,Adapazari Sugar Factory and Uniroyal Tire Factory.Firstly,T.Z.D.K. had been founded in order to produce cart and wheel for army.Later,this factory produced tractors that would meet the important needs of the country.After Advas was founded, it produced and sold the wagon,compartment and so on, not only inside the country,but also overseas.The Sugar Factory also made significant contributions with the production of sugar factories in the region and city.Uniroyal Tire Factory ,established also with the contribution of private enterprise, became the most important one of contributions that foreign capital had made for city. Industrial activities in Adapazari are not only consist of large scale enterprises.Apart from these,there are hundreds of smaller-scale industrial enterprises.And these are the enterprises which have contributions to the city significantly.
