Özet:Sağlıklı bir benlik yapısına sahip olan insanın, başkalarının gözündeki fikirlerine ilişkin değerlendirmesi, hayatının her döneminde önem taşır. Kişinin benliğine yüklediği değeri ifade eden benlik saygısı, bireylerin psikolojik ve sosyal açıdan etkili ve başarılı olmasını sağlayan bir belirteçtir. Yapılan araştırmalar, öz saygının, iç huzuru, anlam arayışı, bir yüce varlığa bağlanma ve psikolojik iyi olma hali gibi olgularla ilişkili olduğunu saptamıştır. Öte yandan bireyin sonsuz dünyaya bakışını değiştiren, tarifsiz ve yoğun şekilde yaşanan tecrübeler de tarih boyunca insanların ilgisini çekmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, dini algı, tutum ve davranışları birbirine yakın olan Kur’an Kursu öğrencileri arasında mistik (tasavvufi) tecrübe ile benlik saygısı ilişkisini araştırmak ve bu iki değişkenle bazı demografik değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, İstanbul ili Bağcılar ilçesinde eğitim faaliyeti yürüten, 2 Kız Kur’an Kursu ile 1 erkek Kur’an Kursu oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemin yaş ranjı, 15-50’dir. Veri toplama aracı olarak; Ralph W. Hood tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçeye uyarlaması M. Süheyl Ünal tarafından yapılan Mistik Tecrübe Ölçeği ile Morris Rosenberg tarafından geliştirilen, Füsun Çuhadaroğlu tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Benlik Saygısı ölçeği tek bir formda birleştirilerek uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, Benlik Saygısı değişkeni ile Mistik tecrübe değişkeni arasında anlamlı bir korelasyonun olmadığını göstermiştir (p>0.05). Aynı şekilde Benlik Saygısı değişkeni ile cinsiyet, eğitim durumu, sosyo-ekonomik düzey ve yaşanılan sosyal çevre değişkenleriyle anlamlı bir ilişkiye rastlanmazken, Benlik Saygısı ile yaş değişkeni arasında p<0.05 düzeyinde anlamlı korelasyon saptanmıştır (p=0.009). Ayrıca mistik tecrübe değişkeni ile yaş değişkeni arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmuş 21 ve daha büyük yaştaki kursiyerlerin mistik tecrübe düzeyleri 20 ve daha küçük yaştaki kursiyerlerden daha yüksek tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet faktörü göz önünde bulunduruldu bulundurulduğunda, bayanların dışadönük mistisizm puanı ve toplam mistisizm puanı erkeklerden yüksek bulunmuştur. Araştırma bulgularına göre gelir düzeyi orta olan kursiyerlerin dışadönük mistik tecrübe düzeyleri, gelir düzeyi yüksek olan kursiyerlerden yüksek bulunmuştur (p=0.046). Mistik tecrübe değişkeni ile medeni durum, eğitim durumu, sosyal çevre değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmemiştir. Sonuç olarak, mistik tecrübe ile benlik saygısı arasında anlamlı bir korelasyon olduğu yönündeki hipotezimiz desteklenmemiştir. Buradan hareketle; kişinin kendini değerli görme, kendinden memnun olma, kendine karşı olumlu tutum içerisinde olma gibi özelliklerini içeren benlik saygısı ile zaman ve mekân üstü bir tecrübe yaşama, yüce bir varlık tarafından kuşatıldığını hissetme ya da benliğinin evrenle bütünleştiğinin farkına varma adımlarını kapsayan mistik tecrübe arasında herhangi bir ilişkinin olmadığı rahatlıkla söylenebilir. ABSTRACT A Research on The Relation Between Self Esteem and Mystic Experience One’s assessment, who does have a healthy self being, regarding his/her value in the eyes of other people is important in the every stage of the life. Self esteem, which means the value that one attaches to him/herself is what ensures them to be psychologically and socially effective and successful. Researches confirm that self esteem is related with several phenomena such as inner peace, meaning seeking, commitment to an almighty being and having a good psychology. On the other hand, indescribable and intense experiences which change the perspective of the individual towards eternal life have always appealed to people during the history. The purpose of this survey is to search the relationship between mystic experience and self esteem among the Quran Course students whose religious perception, attitude and behaviours are close to each other, and to determine between these two variables and some demographic variables. 2 female and a male Quran Course students who are having their education in Bağcılar in İstanbul constitutes the sample of this survey. The age range of the samples is 15-50. As a data collecting tool Mysticism Scale developed by Ralph W. Hood and adapted to Turkish by M. Süheyl Ünal, and Self Esteem Scale developed by Morris Rosenberg and adapted to Turkish by Füsun Çuhadaroğlu have been used by combining into single form. The findings show that there is not a signicative correlation between the self esteem and mystic experience variable (p>0.05). Similarly, while there has not been found a meaningful relationship between self esteem variable and gender, education, socio-economic level and social environmet variables, a signicative correlation has been found between self esteem and age variable at the level of p<0.05. Also, mystic experience levels of the trainees of 21 and older who are found to have a meaningful relationship between mystic experience variable and age variable, has been found as 20 and higher. Taken into consideration the gender issue, extrovert mysticism degree and the total mysticism degree of the women was found to be higher than that of the men. According to the findings of the survey, the extrovert mystic experience levels of the trainees with middle income has been found higher than the ones with higher income (p=0.046). There couldn’t be found a relationship between mystic experience and marital status, education and social environment. Consequently, the hypothesis which indicates a meaningful relationship between mystic experience and self esteem has not been supported. from this point of view, it can be said that there is not a relationship between self esteem which contains one’s perceiving him/herself valuable, being pleased with him/herself and having a positive attitude towards him/herself, and mystic experience which includes the steps of experiencing something over of the time and space, feeling to be surrounded by a supreme being or discovering that him/herself becomes integrated with the universe.
