Özet:Bu araştırma; coğrafya öğretmenlerinin, öğrencileri motive etme yeterliliklerinin öğrenci başarısına etkilerini araştırmak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Amaç doğrultusunda hazırlanan anket 2009-2010 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ili Ümraniye ilçesinde eğitim öğretim veren 5 lisenin tesadüfi olarak seçilmiş 100 öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 15.0 istatistik paket programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Anketlerden bilgi toplamak için; Frekans, Aritmetik Ortalama, Standart Sapma, Histogram, verilerin istatistiksel analizi için; Güvenilirlilik Analizi, Faktör Analizi, İlişki Analizi için Korelâsyon ve Regresyon Analizleri, Ortalama Sınaması için Bağımsız İki Örneklem t-Testi, Varyans Analizi (Tek Yönlü Anova) testlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; coğrafya öğretmenlerinin motivasyon yeterliliklerinin öğrencilerin başarıları üzerinde anlamlı etkilerinin olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca coğrafya öğretmenlerinin motivasyon yeterliliklerinin öğrenci başarısı üzerindeki etkilerin öğrencilerin tanımlayıcı özelliklerine göre de istatistiksel olarak farklılaşmalar olduğu saptanmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Coğrafya, Öğretmen, Motivasyon Başarı ABSTRACT This research has been prepared on the purpose of searching the effects of geography teachers’ proficiency of motivation on students’ success. The questionnaire which has been prepared in paralel with the purpose, has been applied to 100 students who were chosen randomly from 5 high schools in İstanbul, Ümraniye in 2009-2010 education term .The datas taken from questionnaires have been analysed through SPSS 15.0 statistic packaged software in computer environment. It has been benefitted from Frequency, Arithmetic Average, Standart Deviation, Histogram in order to take information from the questionnaires; Reliability Analysis, Factor Analysis, Correlation and Reggression Analysises for Relation Analysis, Independent Samples t-Test for Avarege Tryout for Average Test, Analysis of Variance ( One Way Anova ) for statistical analysises of datas. As a result of the research, it has seen that geography teachers’ proficiency of motivation has a meaningful effect on students’ success. On the other hand, it has been detected that the effects of geography teachers’ proficiency of motivation on the students’ success have statistical differetiations according to students’ defining characteristics.
