Özet:Düşüncelerin anlatımı ve aktarımı için sesli ve yazılı gösterge dizgesi olan dili kullanıyoruz. Dünyayı da dilsel betimleme yoluyla kavrıyoruz. Nesnelerin varlığını kavrayabilmesi adlandırma yoluyla yani dille gerçekleşir. Düşünme , çıkarımlar yapma, kavramlar ve önermeler arasında bağ kurmadır. Kavram ve önermelerin içinde yer aldığı bağlam da dilin bütünlüğünü oluşturur. Görsel sanatlar ve dil, ifade ve iletişim aracı olarak, iki farklı anlatım ve aktarım aracı olmuştur. Dil sözcüklerle, sanat imgeler yoluyla gerçekliği yeniden üretir. Sesli ya da yazılı gösterge dizisinin algılanmasının zihinde oluşturduğu imge geçmiş dönemlerde sadece kutsal yerlerde rastlanan bir şey olmaktan çıkarak, yerini günümüz kitle kültürünün dayatmalarına bırakmıştır. Hangi çağda yaşanırsa yaşansın, sanat imgenin aktarımında en önemli araçlardan biri olmuştur.Sanatsal yaratmada imgelemle gerçeğin yansımaları değişikliğe uğradığı süreçte kavramlara gereksinim duyulmuştur. Sanatın dil ile kurduğu ilişki, özellikle Ludwig Wittgenstein'ın kuramlarıyla gelişmiştir. İşlevi dünyayı resmetmek olan dil, dilsel resimlerle dünyayı yansıtmaktadır. Dil zamanla sanat nesnesinin kendisi olmuş, gerçeği tanımlayan metinlere dönüşmüştür. Magritte'in "Bu Bir Pipo Değildir" isimli çalışmasında imge/resim ve yazı/dil arasındaki ilişki üzerine kuruludur. Bir pipo imgesinin altında yazan "Bu Bir Pipo Değildir" ifadesi ile dilin görsel bir imge olarak varlığının altını çizer. Sanatın sorgulandığı 1960'lı yıllar, algının sınırlarının çizilmesinde imge ve sözcük arasıdaki hassas ilişkilerden yola çıkarak, sanat metinleri totolojik önermeler olarak kullanılmış ve sanat tanımını geleneksel sınırlarını yıkmaya çalışırken, sergilenebilecek sanat nesneleri üretmek yerine, tartışmalar aracılığıyla sanat kavramlarını irdelemiştir. Art Language Grubu da yazılı sözcükleri malzeme olarak kullanmış, gelecekteki projelerini belirlemek ve sanata ilişkin önermeler yapmak için 'dil'den yararlanmışlardır. SUMMARY To Express our thoughts and to transfer them to the others we use a verbal and coded system that is named language. We perceive the wold by linguistic identification. The perception of the surrounding is made by identification, namely the language. Thinking is making inferences, and making connections between concepts and suggestions. Visual arts and language are two separate expression and transfer tools for stating thoughts and providing communication. Language uses words and art uses images to recreate the reality. The image that is constituted in the mind by the perception of verbal and written indication system has used to be encountered only in sacred places in the past but now has left its place to the impositions of the mass culture. Regardless of the age that mankind has lived in, art has been one of the most important means for transferring the image. In the phase that the reflections of reality and imagination in artistic creation face a change, the need for the concepts have came to existence. The relationship that is formed between art and language has been improved particularly with the theories of Ludwig Wittgenstein. Language, as a tool for drawing the world, has been representing the wold in linguistic pictures. Language has become the artistic object by time and has been transformed into the texts defining the reality. Magritte's "This is Not a Pipe" creation is based on the relationship between image/picture and text/language. The description "This is Not a Pipe" under the picture of a pipe, states the existence of the language as a visual image. 1960's were the times that art has been deeply discussed, the borders of perception are determined by the sensitive relationship between image and word, and moving from this fact artistic texts have been used as tautological suggestions and those years were meant to break the borders of the traditional definition of art and instead of creating artistic items, the artistic concepts have been examined over discussionns in those years. Art Language Group also has used written words as a tool and has benefited from 'language' to determine its future projects and to make suggestions about art.
