Özet:ULUSLARARASI TİCARET ve PARA YÖNETİMİ BİLİM DALI Bu çalışmanın amacı; her ülke ekonomisinde büyük etkileri olan, ileri de oluşturulacak ekonomi politikaları üzerinde belirleyici rol üstlenen cari işlemler açığı ve bu açığın sürdürülebilirliğinin incelenmesidir. Çalışma 5 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde; ödemeler bilançosu ve cari işlemler dengesi adı altında ödemeler bilançosunun tanımı yapılarak ödemeler bilançosu ilkeleri ele alınmıştır. Ödemeler bilançosunun temel hesap grupları ayrıntılı olarak işlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde; cari işlemler açığının tanımlanması yapılmış, cari işlemler açığının nedenleri ile birlikte cari işlemler dengesinin belirleyicileri üzerinde durulmuştur. Üçüncü bölümde; cari işlemler dengesini açıklamaya yönelik teorik yaklaşımlar hakkında bilgiler sunulurken, cari işlemler açığının sürdürülebilirliği, sürdürülebilirlik göstergeleri detaylı olarak ele alınmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde; cari işlemler dengesini sağlamaya yönelik politika uygulamalarına bakılırken, beşinci bölümde; Türkiye’nin cari açığı ve bu açığın göstergeleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada yerli kaynaklarla birlikte yabancı kaynaklardan da faydalanılmıştır. Sayısal verilerin birçoğu www.tuik.gov.tr, www.tcmb.gov.tr adreslerinden sağlanmıştır. ABSTRACT INTERNATIONAL OF TRADE AND MONEY MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT The purpose of this study; having a great impact on the economy of each country, which is further assumed to have a decisive role in the economic policies to be created is to examine the current account deficit and the sustainability of this deficit. The study consists of 5 chapters. The First Chapter; by creating the definition of balance of payments under the name of current account balance and balance of payments, the principles of balance of payments are discussed. The main account groups of balance of payments are processed in detail. The Second Chapter; the definition of current account deficit has been given and along with the reasons for current account deficit there is also a focus on the determinants of the current account balance. The Third Chapter; while presenting information about the theoretical approaches to explain current account balance, the sustainability of current account deficit and the sustainability indicators are discussed in detail. The Fourth Chapter; while looking at the implementation of policies aimed at ensuring the current account balance, the fifth chapter; discusses Turkey's current account deficit and the sustainability indicators of this deficit. The study benefited from both domestic and foreign resources. Most of the numerical data were provided from the www.tuik.gov.tr and www.tcmb.gov.tr addresses.
