Özet:Eğitim konusu geçmişte olduğu gibi günümüzde de ülkelerin en önemli meselesi olmuş ve gelecekte de olmaya devam edecektir. Ülkelerin gelişebilmesi ve buna bağlı olarak refah düzeyi yüksek ülkeler arasına katılması eğitilmiş, günün koşullarına ayak uydurabilen ve aldığı eğitimle geleceği garanti altına alabilen insanlarla mümkündür. Bu yüzden gelişmiş ülkeler en büyük yatırımlarını eğitime yapmaktadır. Son yıllarda dünyamız çok hızlı bir şekilde teknolojik gelişmelere sahne olmaktadır. Doğal olarak eğitim de bu gelişmeden payını almaktadır. Fakat teknoloji her zaman sorunları tam olarak çözememektedir. Zira eğitimin odak noktasında insan bulunmaktadır. Eğitimin gelişme hızı teknolojik gelişmelere yetişemediği zaman büyük sorunlar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Amaç, hem aradaki açığı kapatmak hem de insan unsurunu göz ardı etmeden gelişebilmektir. Ülkemiz eğitim sistemi ne yazık ki birçok sorun yaşamakta ve günü yakalayamamaktadır. Özellikle tezimizin konusu olan coğrafya eğitimi gelişmelerden son derece uzaktadır. Yaptığımız araştırmada bu sorunlar genel olarak ele alınmış, sorunlar tespit edilmiş ve bunların çözüm yolları üzerinde durulmuştur. Doğal olarak çözüm yolları bulunurken coğrafya eğitimindeki gelişmeler göz önüne alınmış ve bunların ışığında çözüm üretilmiştir. Yapılan araştırmada eğitim politikamızın yenilenmesi gerektiği, bugünkü haliyle ihtiyaçları karşılayamadığı, özellikle teknolojik gelişmelerden hiç faydalanılmadığı görülmüştür. Coğrafya gibi görsel unsurların bol olduğu bir branşta bu unsurun kullanılmadığı ve bunun da öğrencileri ezbere ittiği görülmüştür. En önemli sorunlardan bir tanesi de öğrencilere coğrafya öğrenmenin niçin gerekli olduğunun anlatılamamış olmasıdır. Coğrafyanın temeli insan, yaşadığımız ortam, dünyamız ve evrendir. Yapılan araştırma bize göstermiştir ki; öğretmenlerimizin en büyük sorunu araç-gereç temini ve zamandır. Öğrencilerin de en büyük şikayeti görsel unsurların bulunmaması ve öğrenilen konuların hayatta ne işe yarayacağının bilinmemesidir. Ortada bir amaç olmaması öğrencileri sıkıntıya sokmakta ve derse ilgi duyabilmenin tek koşulu sevilen bir öğretmen olmaktadır. Bunlar da şu sonuçlar ortaya çıkmaktadır; eğitime ayrılan pay artırılmalı, yeni eğitim politikaları belirlenmeli, kitaplar ve diğer araç gereçler hızlı bir şekilde günümüze uyarlanmalıdır. ABSTRACT Education has been the most important issues of countrises at the past, in the present and would be so in the future. For a able to a developed and a welfare state, there should be people who are educated, who can compete with current conditions and who had guaranteed his/her furute with the education he/she gained. For that reason developed countries have made their biggest investments on education. In the last years our world is having very fast technological developments. Naturally education is a psat of this development. But technology can not solve the problems completely all the time. Because the focus of education is human. If the impetus of improvement of education can not reach technological developments, great problems take place. The aim is both to close the difference between the two and to improve with giving importance to human. Our country's educational system has lots of problems and can not reach the day. Especially geography education which is the subject of the theis is uttermost far from developments. In this research these problems have been considered, and solutions of these problems are investigated. Naturally these solutions are parallel with the developments in geography education. In this study, it has been seen that; our education policies should be renovated because it can not serve needs and it has been seen that technological developtments are not used. Geography is a branch in which visual elements are much but technological developments are not used and this causes students to memorization. One of the most important problems is that students are not told why they need to learn geography. The basis of geography is human, the envimoments we live on the world and the universe. The research has determined that the most important problems of teachers are instructional equipment and time. The most important complaints of students are absence of visual elements and it is seen that students do not know what to do with the taught subjects. Absence of an aim makes students bored and the only reason to be interested in the lesson is to have a loved teacher. The results are the share of education should be increased, new policies of education should be determined, books and other equipments should be adapted to the day as fast as possible.
