Özet:İsmet Özel’in Din ve Toplum görüşlerini inceleyen bu tezin kapsamı altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde İsmet Özel’in Din Anlayışına yönelik görüşleri üzerinde durulmuştur. İnsanın ihtiyacının sonsuz olduğunu, ancak dua ederek ve dini vecibelerini yerine getirerek mutlu olabileceğini, dinimiz bizleri korku ve ümit arasında olmaya teşvik ettiğini ve Müslüman’ın dünyada söz sahibi olabilmesi için kesinlikle İslami değerlere sahip çıkması üzerinde durulmaktadır. İkinci bölümde İsmet Özel’in İrtica ile ilgili görüşleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Yıllarca bu ülkede ne olduğu net olarak bilinmeyen irtica diye bir kavram üretip, oradan masum insanları sanki gericiymiş gibi lanse edildiğini fakat bugün “irtica elden gidiyor” diye işlerin tersine döndüğü vurgulanmış. Üçüncü bölümde İsmet Özel’in özgürlük anlayışı üzerinde durulmuştur. İnsanın melekle hayvan arasında olduğunu, Öz-ü-gür-lük insan olmanın bilincine varmak ve melek olma özentisinden, hayvan olma azabından kurtulmanın bir işareti olduğu üzerinde durulmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde İsmet Özel’in Hilafete bakışı üzerinde durulmuştur. Çağımızdaki oluşumlar karşısında ümmetin niteliği ve kendi inançları, fikri olgunluğu doğrultusunda tutturacağı yön ve imkanlarını kullanmada göstereceği üstünlük hilafetin yeniden anlamlandırılmasına, cesamet kazanmasına sebep olabileceğinin üzerinde durulmuştur. Beşinci bölümde İsmet Özel’in ulusalcılık ve milliyetçilik anlayışı üzerinde durulmuştur. Türk’ten bahsedilecekse ırki ve genetik olarak değil de tarih sahnesinden yer alan Türk’ten bahsetmek gerektiği ifade edilmiştir. Altıncı ve son bolümde İsmet Özel’in İslam ve Türkiye ilişkisi görüşleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Peygambere bağlılık olacaksa bu sünnete ittiba ile ve müslümanın tepkisi ise onu galeyana getiren ne olursa olsun müslümanca tavır olmalı, Türkçeyi Müslüman olduğumuz için konuştuğumuzu ve Türkçe sayesinde rabbimizle canlı bir bağ kurabileceğimiz üzerinde durulmaktadır. ABSTRACT The scope of this thesis examining İsmet Özel’s views about Religion and Society includes six parts. The first part focuses on İsmet Özel’s views about the Understanding of Religion. In this part, it is mentioned that humans have endless needs; that they can still be happy by praying and fulfilling the religious duties; that our religion encourages us to stay between fear and hope; and that in order for muslims to have a voice in the world, they should certainly protect and own Islamic values. The second part focuses on İsmet Özel’s views about Reaction. In this part, it is mentioned that a concept called Reaction, which no one in this country has been able to understand precisely for years, was invented; that innocent people were introduced as if they were reactionists; and that today, the current situation is not as it was intended to be in the past. The third part focuses on İsmet Özel’s understanding of freedom. In this part, it is pointed out that human is somewhere between an angel and an animal; that freedom refers to consciousness of being a human and is regarded as a sign of avoiding the pretension to become an angel and the torment of being an animal. The fourth part focuses on İsmet Özel’s viewpoint regarding caliphate. In this part, it is mentioned that the quality and beliefs of the muslim community as well as the intellectual maturity of this community could lead to the revival of the caliphate. The fifth part focuses on İsmet Özel’s understanding of nationalism. It is mentioned that when speaking of Turks, it is important to mention those Turks of the past rather than talking about Turks in terms of their genetic characteristics or race. The sixth part focuses on İsmet Özel’s views about Islam and its relationship with Turkey. In this part, it is pointed out that if there will be commitment to the Prophet, this should occur via loyalty to the religious applications of the Prophet; and the reaction of a muslim should be that of a good muslim and that we speak Turkish because we are muslim and we can establish live connection with our God thanks to our Turkish Language.
