Anahtar Kelimeler : Türk Modernleşmesi, Türk Milliyetçiliği, Kültürel Değişim SOSYOLOJİK YAKLAŞIMLI TÜRK MÜLLİYETÇİLİĞİNDE TÜRK MODERNLEŞMESİ: ZİYA GÖKALP, MÜMTAZ TURHAN, EROL GÜNGÖR, YILMAZ ÖZAKPINAR Türkiye'nin son birkaç yüzyıllık tarihi, modernleşme girişimleri çerçevesinde, daha önce görülmemiş kapsamda ve hızda değişimlerin yaşandığı bir sürece karşılık gelmektedir. Osmanlı'dan Cumhuriyet'e devrolunan modernleşme sorunsalı, tüm bu tarihsel süreç boyunca en öndeki konumunu korumuş, Osmanlı'daki ıslahat düşüncesinde ifadesini bulan kısmi reform süreci, Cumhuriyet ile birlikte inkılap düşüncesine evrilerek toplumsal yaşamın tüm boyutlarını içeren bütüncül bir dönüşüm projesi halini almıştır. Modernleşmenin kapsamı ve derecesi sorunu, Türk düşünce dünyasının başat konusu haline gelmiş, politik konumlanışlar, dünya görüşleri ve kültürel yaşam üzerinde belirleyici etkide bulunmuştur. Bu çalışma, Osmanlı'dan Cumhuriyet'e uzanan süreçte Türk modernleşmesi sorunsalı çerçevesinde şekillenmiştir. Çalışmanın hipotezi ise, Sosyolojik Yaklaşımlı Türk Milliyetçiliğinin kültür ve medeniyetlerin etkileşimi bağlamında Türk modernleşmesine ilişkin görüşlerinin eleştirel bir çözümlemesini yaparak bu bilimsel düşünce geleneğini belirginleştirmek ve incelenen bu geleneğin görüşlerinin, Türk modernleşme sorunsalı bağlamında yerel kültürel öğelerin ve tarihsel deneyimin konumunun belirlenmesi kapsamında ortaya çıkan sorunlara ilişkin çözüm potansiyeli taşıyıp taşımadığını sorgulamaktır. Çalışmada, yöntemsel olarak iki düzey söz konusudur. Üzerinde çalışılan isimlerin düşüncelerinin sistematiğini ortaya koymak amacıyla, temel sorunsalları bağlamında düşüncelerinin ortak bir çerçevede soyutlanarak betimlenmesi aşaması ilk düzeyi oluştururken, incelenen akımın Türk modernleşmesi çerçevesindeki saptamalarının kuramsal yaklaşımlar ve tarihsel veriler ışığında analiz edilmesi ikinci düzeyi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, Ziya Gökalp'le başlayan, Mümtaz Turhan, Erol Güngör ve Yılmaz Özakpınar'la devam eden, Türk modernleşme sorunsalı üzerinde düşünsel üretimde bulunan bilimsel bir düşünce geleneği belirgin kılınmış, söz konusu geleneğin kısmi değişimciliği kuramsal olarak temellendirilmiş ve incelenen yaklaşımın görüşlerinin, Türk modernleşme sorunsalı bağlamında yerel kültürel öğelerin ve tarihsel deneyimin konumunun belirlenmesi kapsamında beliren sorunlara ilişkin çözüm imkanları sunduğu vargısına ulaşılmıştır. Keywords : Turkish Modernization, Turkish Nationalism, Cultural Change ABSTRACT TURKISH MODERNIZATION IN VIEW OF SOCIOLOGICALLY ORIENTED TURKISH NATIONALISM: ZİYA GÖKALP, MÜMTAZ TURHAN, EROL GÜNGÖR, YILMAZ ÖZAKPINAR The last few hundred year old history of Turkey corresponds to a process where changes in unprecedented scope and rate as part of the modernization initiatives. The modernization problematic devolved upon The Republic period from Ottomans maintained its foremost position during all this historical process; the partial reform process, which found its expression in the thought of reform in Ottomans, became a total transformation project including all aspects of communal living by evolving to the thought of revolution with Republic period. The issue of the scope and level of modernization became the dominant matter of Turkish world of thought and had a determinative impact on political positionings, world views and cultural life. This study shaped within the frmaework of the problematic of Turkish modernization in the process extending from Ottomans to Republic period. As for the hypothesis of the study, it is to make a critical analysis of the views of Sociologically Oriented Turkish Nationalism on Turkish modernization in the context of the interaction of cultures and civilizations and to concretize this scientific thought tradition and to question whether the views of this tradition examined have a potential for solution or not in reference to the issues emerging as part of the determination of the position of local cultural factors and historical experience in the context of the problematic of Turkish Modernization. In the study, two levels are discussed procedurally. In order to set forth the systematic of the thoughts of the figures studied on, the stage of describing their thoughts by abstracting in a common framework in the context of their basic problematics constitutes the first level while analyzing the determinations of the movement in the framework of Turkish modernization in the light of theoretic approaches and historical data constitutes the second level. As a consequence of the study, a scientific thought tradition, starting with Ziya Gökalp, progressing with Mümtaz Turhan, Erol Güngör and Yılmaz Özakpınar, creating ideas on the problematic of Turkish modernization is embodied, the partial evolutionism of the tradition in question is grounded theoretically and the conclusion that the views of this tradition examined provide opportunities for solution in reference to the issues emerging as part of the determination of the position of local cultural factors and historical experience in the context of the problematic of Turkish modernization is reached.
