Özet:İran İslam Cumhuriyeti’nin uluslararası ve bölgesel rolünü belirleyen en önemli faktör jeopolitik konumudur. İran, büyük ölçüde sahip olduğu jeopolitik faktörler üzerine bölgesel ve uluslararası diğer siyasi birimlerle ilişki ve politik tutumunu belirlemektedir. İran’ın küresel ve bölgesel rolünün anlaşılması için jeopolitik öneminin incelenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı İran İslam Cumhuriyeti’nin bölgesel bir güç olarak jeopolitik önemini ve buna bağlı olarak da diğer bölge ülkeleri ve küresel aktörlerle ilişkilerini analiz etmektir. Bu bağlamda birincil ve ikincil kaynaklardan yararlanılarak literatür taraması yapılmış ve konuyla ilgili olaylar ve olgular analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma çerçevesinde birincil kaynak olarak kitaplar kullanılırken ikincil kaynak olarak konuyla ilgili raporlar, makaleler, dergiler ve internet kaynakları kullanılmıştır. Çalışma dört ana bölüm ve sonuç kısmından oluşmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın ilk bölümünde teorik bilgiler verilmektedir. Bir bölge veya bir ülke jeopolitiğinin değerlendirmesi için izlenen yönteme uygun olarak ikinci bölümde İran’ın coğrafi gücü incelenecektir. Bu bölüm jeopolitiğin değişmeyen unsurları olan ülkenin dünya coğrafyasına göre konumu, coğrafi bütünlüğü, sahip olduğu stratejik kaynaklar analiz edilerek diğer bölümleri anlamada yardımcı olacaktır. Üçüncü bölümde jeopolitiğin değişen unsurları olan İran’ın sosyo, ekonomik, politik ve askeri yapısı analiz edilecektir. Dördüncü bölümde ise ilk üç bölümde elde edilen bulgular ışığında jeopolitiğin değişmeyen ve değişen unsurlarının zaman unsuruyla birbirlerine olan etki ve katkılarıyla birlikte toplu değerlendirmesi yapılarak İran’ın jeopolitik önemi analiz edilecektir. Bu bağlamda İran dış politikası, dünya ve bölge güç merkezlerine göre konumu incelenecektir. ABSTRACT The most important determining factor that effects Islamic Republic of Iran’s regional and international role is its geo-strategic position. The foreign policy of an Iran is an expression of its geopolitic position and reflections of its benefit and opportunity perception. In order to understand Iran’s regional and international role, its geopolitical structure should be examined. The focal point of this research is to analyse the geopolitical importance of Iran as a regional power and also its relations with its region and global powers. In this context, by the help of both primary and secondary resources the analyse of the literature was copleted and events relevant to the issue are used for the analyse. In this frame, books are used as a primary resourse and reports, articles, journals and internet relevant to the issue are used as secondary resources. The research is formed from four sections and conclusion part. The first part gives the theoretical information. As a part of geopolitical analyse method, the second part evaluates the geographical power of Iran. By the analyse of the constant components of the geopolitic like geographical location, entireness and stretegic resourses, this parts help us to understand the rest of the study. The third part evaluates changeable components of the geopolitic like the socio-economic, political and military structure of Iran. The forth part analyses the geopolitic importance of Iran by the evaluation of both the constant and changeable components of the geopolitic with time compenent. In this context, foreign policy of Iran and its position towards regional and international powers are evaluated.
