Özet:Osmanlı Devleti, Tanzimat'la birlikte siyasî ve kültürel yeni bir süreç içerisine girer. Bu dönemde bir taraftan çeşitli cephelerde verilen mücadeleler devam ederken, bir taraftan da sanat alanında yeni türlerin ortaya çıktığı görülür. Bu çalışmada üzerinde durulan roman türünün, edebiyatımızdaki ilk örneği 1870 yılında Ahmet Mithat Efendi tarafından verilir. Edebiyatımızda roman türü, o günlerden başlamak üzere çeşitli sanat anlayışlarının da etkisinde kalarak gelişir. Bu tür yazıldığı dönemin kültürel ve sosyal yapısını da yansıtır. Osmanlı Devleti'nin dağılması, yeni bir devleti kurulması için girişilen savaşlar, siyasî hayattaki mücadeleler, bütün bu faaliyetlerde yer alan insanlar ve onların maceraları romanlarda işlenir. Bahsedilen dönemde de aktif roller üstlenen asker şahıslar acaba romanda nasıl işlenmiştir? Roman türünün edebiyatımızda ilk örneklerini verdiği yıllardan itibaren bu şahısların işlenmesinde ne gibi farklılaşmalar olmuştur? Bu ve benzeri sorulardan hareketle araştırmaya başladığımız "Türk Romanında Asker Tipleri" konulu çalışmamızı roman türünün ilk örneğinin verildiği 1870 yılından başlamak üzere Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kurulduğu 1923 yılına kadar getirdik. Bu dönem içerisinde ele aldığımız romanları, işledikleri zaman dilimine göre Tarihi Romanlar ve Aktüel Zamanı Ele Alan Romanlar olarak ikiye ayırdık. Romandaki asker tiplerini de Mesleği Askerlik Olanlar, Askerlik Hizmetini Yapanlar, Askerlik Mesleğinden Emekli Olanlar ve Yabancı Askerler olarak sınıflandırdık. 19.yy.ın sonu ve 20.yy.ın ilk yarısında girişilen savaşların kronolojisine göre bu sınıflandırmayı bir sıraya koyduk. Sonuç bölümünde de tüm bunların bir değerlendirmesini yaptık. Abdülhamid döneminin hürriyet taraftarı askerî öğrencilerinin göreve başladığı yılları ve ülkeyi kurtarmak için giriştikleri ateşli mücadeleleri yansıtan bu romanların, çoğunlukla bir aşk ilişkisi ile çerçevelendiridiğini tespit ettik. Ancak incelediğimiz dönemde hem roman türünün gelişmesini tamamlayamaması, hem de savaşların devam etmesi nedeniyle henüz asker tiplerin üzerinde fazla durulmadığını fark ettik. Cumhuriyetin ilanıyla sağlanan huzur ortamı ve özellikle Milli Mücadele'nin kazanılması için yapılan fedakarlıkların, romanlarda ancak sonraki yıllarda başarıyla işlenebileceği kanaatine vardık. ABSTRACT Ottoman Empire experienced a new political and cultural proses with the declaration of Tanzimat. İn this period, it was seen some new genres based on western models coming out while the wars in different fronts were going on. Shortly after we met some translations, the first examples of these genres were started to be given. The first sample of the novel in our literature, which study was focused on, was written by Ahmet Mithat Efendi. This genre reflects the sociocultural atmosphere of the period in which. İt was written by using the different artistic perceptions. İn these novels, the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the wars which were made to build a new state, the struggles in the political life, the people who took part in all these activities and their adventures were given in these novels. How were the men who took active roles in the army in this period worked up in the novels? What kind of differences came in to effect in the representation of these characters starting with the years in which the first examples were given? Starting such and like questions we have begun to search far our studly "Military Types in Turkish Novel" from 1870, the year the first example of the novel genre was given till 1923, the year the Turkısh Republic was founded. We have divided the novels we dealt in to two, as Historical and Actual Time Novels, according to the time they took place. We have also classified the military types as professional soldiers, draffees, refiered soldiers and foreign soldiers. We have put this classification in order according to the chronology of the wars between the second half of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century. These novels reflected the years which the military students who favored independence in the Abdülhamid era took up their professions and the fiery struggler who mixed up to save the country. The plot pattern was usually framed with a love affair. Because the novel genre couldn't complete its development and the wars were still going on in this period, these military types weren't focused on so much. The peaceful atmosphere coming with the declaration of Republic and especially with the sacrificies to win the National Struggle for independence were dealt in the later periods.
