Özet:

Eski Türk tarihçiliği ve bu alanın Cumhuriyet dönemi boyunca evrimi kapsamlı olarak araştırılmamıştır. Cumhuriyet’in belirli dönemlerinin tarihçiliğini inceleyen tezler ve makaleler vardır. Tarihteki olgular ve olaylar tarihçiler incelenmeden anlaşılamaz. Ancak, eski Türk tarihçiliğinin gelişim sürecini ve yürütülen çalışmaların analizini ihtiva eden bir çalışma yoktur. Tezin amacı da eski Türk tarihçiliğini ve bu alandaki gelişmeleri analiz ederek ve açıklayarak bu alandaki bir boşluğu doldurmaktır. Bu nedenle, tezde Türkiye'deki eski Türk tarihçiliğinde hangi etkilerin değişimlere neden olmuş olabileceğini tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Eski Türk tarihinin alanının önde gelen tarihçilerinin temel eserleri ana kaynağı oluşturmaktadır. Eserleri tahlil ederken, iç ve dış faktörler hesaba katılmıştır. Bu şekilde, tez, Türkiye'de eski Türk tarihçiliğinin dış faktörler ile başladığını ancak süreç içerisinde iç dinamikleri ile değiştiğini ve böylece eski Türk tarihçiliği alanında metot ve ekollerin ortaya çıktığını savunmaktadır. Bu yöntemler ve okullar ortaya çıktıkları toplumsal ve siyasal konjonktüre göre incelenmiştir. Tezde dönemler birbirleriyle karşılaştırılarak yaklaşımlardaki benzerlikler ve farklılıklar gözlemlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Tarih, Tarihyazımı, Eski Türk Tarihi, Cumhuriyet Dönemi ABSTRACT Ancient Turkish historiography and its evolution throughout the Turkish Republic period have not been comprehensively studied. There are theses and articles examining historiography of certain times of the Republican period. Phenomena and events in history can not come out without examining historians. But, there is no study containing the development process of ancient Turkish historiography and the analysis of the studies carried out earlier. The goal of the dissertation is to fill a gap in the field by analyzing and explaining ancient Turkish historiography and its developments. Therefore, the goal of the dissertation is to analyze which effects might be caused changes in ancient Turkish history in Turkey. Essential works of the leading historians of ancient Turkish history are the main source. While dissecting the works, internal and external factors are taken into account. In this way, the dissertation has argued that ancient Turkish historiography in Turkey started with external factors but it has been changed with internal dynamics in the process and so, methods and schools emerged in the field of ancient Turkish historiography. These methods and schools are examined according to the social and political conjuncture of when they emerged. The dissertation attempted to observe differentiation or similarities of the approach by comparing the periods with one another.
