Özet:Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nda en ciddi manada III. Selim döneminde başlatılan eğitimde modernleşme çabaları, II. Mahmut devrinde hız kazanmıştır. Bu çabalar Tanzimat’ın ilanından sonra en üst seviyeye ulaşmıştır. Ancak bütün bu modernleşme hareketleri Osmanlı Devleti’nin yıkılışını önleyememiştir. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun yıkılmasından sonra kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, Osmanlı Devleti’ni mahkûm eden güçlerle baş etmek için onların silahını kullanmıştır. Yani eğitimde modern ve bilimsel bir yapı oluşturarak Batılı güçlere ayak uydurma yolunu seçmiştir. Bu nedenle eğitimde modernleşme adına birçok inkılap yapmıştır. Cumhuriyetin ilanıyla yeni bir anlayışla başlanan eğitimde modernleşme hareketi Tahsin Banguoğlu’nun milli eğitim bakanlığı dönemine kadar aralıksız olarak sürmüştür. Tahsin Banguoğlu döneminde de bu süreç devam ettirilmiştir. Bu dönemde eğitimde ciddi bir dönüşüm yaşanmıştır. Günümüzde varlığını sürdüren birçok kurum bu dönemde açılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Türk eğitim tarihini daha sağlıklı okumak için bilinmesi gereken bu geçiş dönemindeki önemli gelişmelere değindik. Selim gained momentum during the reign of Mahmud ll. These efforts have reached the highest level after the proclamation of the Tanzimat reforms. However, all these modernization movements prevented the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. For this reason, many revolutions in education were made in the name of modernization. This process continued during the period of Tahsin Banguoğlu. During this period, there has been a significant transformation in education. Nowadays many organizations has existed in this period was founded.
