Özet

Outsourcing methods are applying mostly in labor-intensive industry. The most important reason of this is decrease the labor cost by employ the lesser workers. If the focus is apparel companies, production duration consists of cutting sewing and ironing-packaging phases. As labor deploy can be decreased so much by technological investments in abattoir, in sewing and ironing-packaging phases it can decrease until a certain rank. So apparel companies prefer outsourcing methods to be done sewing and ironing-packaging phases. But ironing packaging is the last phase so the companies want to do these phases their own under controls. The other reason of this is the sewing phase which is done outside of company can be controlled by the companies’ workers.

In this study; firstly, general information about outsourcing methods, workflow in garment and apparel business in terms of outsourcing production (outsourcing) variations are explained by the general lines. Then outsourcing trends for sewing and ironing-packaging processes will be explained and compared as a result of the survey obtained information.
