Canal Istanbul is a waterway which is planned to be built on the Çatalca Plateau in the west of Istanbul and is still in the design phase. The canal, which will provide the connection between the Marmara Sea and the Black Sea, is planned to cross the Sazlıdere Stream and Sazlıdere Dam to the north by starting from Küçükçekmece Lake in the south and then crossing Sazlıbosna, Dursunköy, Baklalı and joining the Black Sea from the east of Terkos Lake. This study has been prepared to examine the engineering geomorphology of the line surroundings and examines the relationship between natural conditions and engineering. In the study where each parameter prevailing in the field is examined as a whole within the scope of geographical point of view, the most favorable and unfavorable points of the surroundings are examined with sensitivity, and it is proposed to consider these in construction activities. In the introduction part, the general geographical features of the site are explained and consist of two parts.

In the introduction part, the field is examined under two headings in terms of physical and human geography features, firstly geology and tectonics, geomorphology, hydrography, soil, climate, vegetation are examined, then population and settlement, economic activities, tourism and transportation issues are mentioned. This section, where the purpose and scope, as well as the material and method, as well as the material and method, are specified, sets out the current conditions of the site and the path taken in the survey. With the mapping of the mentioned subjects, general geographical features gained visual quality and thus contributed to the narration.

In the first section, which was formed in order to present the geomorphological features of the site in detail, firstly the morphometric analyzes are given, and then the geomorphological units are discussed. By using morphometric indices, the relief characteristics of the site have been quantitatively expressed and thus conflicting situations about morphology have been avoided. Immediately afterwards, the field geomorphology has been examined separately as the formations according to the basic units and their formations.

In the second section devoted to engineering geomorphology of the study area, the field is examined in terms of topography, lithology, tectonics, ground mechanic, land use and soil. Then each of these parameters was first given a coefficient to the extent that it affected, and then a hierarchical dimension was given according to the sufficient value of the elements themselves. With the map of engineering geomorphology obtained by synthesizing all of these, it has been clarified which regions are suitable for engineering activities and which areas are unsuitable in Canal Istanbul Surroundings.

As a result, geographic perspective, which is a broad perspective from structural to population and economics, and all the effective elements in the field have been evaluated together, and accordingly, some implications have been made for the Canal Istanbul Surroundings.
