Determination of karate athletes’ stress trend and stress resistance levels

Özet

This study purpose to compare and determine of the male and female athletes’ stress trend and stress resistance in the sport of karate. The sample of the study, a total of 85 contestants karate athletes who volunteered to participate in the continuing. 33 percent of these athletes are male and female athletes who compete young and a national team and have a degree from European, World and Mediterranean Games. Scale of stress resistance and scale of stress trend were used to determine athletes’ stress trend and stress resistance. The data obtained from the analysis, SPSS 20 software package was used. ‘’Kolmogorov-Smirnov’’ test was applied to determine of the data which has a normal distribution or not, and “Anova-Homogenety’’ test was applied to determine the homogeneity of variances and the data were homogeneous and have a normal distribution. After initial inspection of the data, it was decided to use the method of parametric test for statistic analysis. For analyzing of data, descriptive statistics and independent sample T test was used. At the end of the study, according to the results female athletes are more resistant to stress.
