Özet

Yurt attempts to touch upon significant concerns of

ecocriticism, such as HPPs, the right to water, concretisation,

deforestation due to mines, and ecosystems left to die. The

film also has the goal of naming the political-economic factors

of complicity that underlie these problems. As the film recalls

recklessness and marginalisation, it also draws attention to the

societal dimension of the pillage. It touches upon the

legislative regulations that open up nature for exploitation by

conglomerates and the marginalising attitude of the locals

towards the opponent of this destruction. Doğan’s

disconnection with the land he grew up in and his sensation of

the loss of the home are related to societal values as much as

they are related to destroyed nature.
