100% woven cellulosic fabric was simultaneously reactive dyed with C.I. Reactive Yellow 176 and finished with reactive-type microcapsules in the same bath. The structure of the reactive-type microcapsules used in this work were polyurethane/urea (PUU), and a binder having an ability forming bonds with cellulose was also used in the preparation of the microcapsules which contain the perfume, lavender oil. In this work, the functional and coloristic properties of the dyed and the microcapsules applied materials by two different methods were investigated by the spectroscopic methods, the washing fastness tests, SEM technique and the thermal analysis methods (TGA and DTA). The results show that the coloristic and fastness properties of the treated materials are very good compared with the dyed samples only and the lavender smell lasts for a long time and persistent after vigorous washings.
