Assessing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for local governments is important for sustainable development. This study develops a GHG inventory for a mid-sized Turkish county, using standardised principles and Turkey-specific emission factors based on the global protocol for community-scale GHG inventories (GPC). The research focuses on residential stationary energy consumption and examines neighbourhood-level energy usage patterns. The study presents mitigation strategies, highlighting that improved insulation in residential buildings can reduce energy use by 10%. It contributes to the literature by offering insights into the spatial distribution of urban GHG emissions and the effectiveness of localised mitigation strategies.
