Research on Social Skills of Syrian Refugee Children Continuing Preschool According to Psychometric Features

All Rights Reserved.The object of this study is to analyze the social skills and the problem behaviours of the Syrian refugee children who are taking preschool education at the moment according to psychometric features. The study which was designed according to the correlational survey model was evaluated in quantitative research approach. Participants consisted of 77 Syrian kids at the age of 4-5 who keep on their preschool education in 9 different independent kindergarden which are in Eyyübiye, one of the central territories of Urfa, in 2017-2018 academic year. The data of the study were collected through the Personal Information Form developed by the researcher and Social Skills Rating System (SSRS) formed by Gresham and Elliot (1990) and adopted to Turkish by Elibol Gültekin (2008) and Bülbül (2008). When the findings of the research is generally evaluated, in the mean of the sum of social skill results and self-audit subscale scores of Syrian refugee children are higher in females than males. The mean of their sum of problem behaviour scores and internal problems subscale scores are higher in males than females.
