Energy use in buildings accounts for 40% of global energy consumption and significant CO2 emissions. In Turkey, the 12th Development Plan targets reduced building energy use and net-zero emissions by 2053. Addressing these goals, this study explores façade retrofit strategies for a public office in Alanya, Turkey, in a hot-humid Mediterranean climate, using simulations to evaluate shading impacts on daylight and energy loads. Emphasis is placed on maintaining unobstructed views, vital for occupant satisfaction and productivity. By optimizing façade design for thermal and visual comfort, this study highlights seasonal shading as key to enhancing comfort and reducing energy demand, supporting Alanya's path to net-zero energy goals in public buildings.
