Özet

Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent form of arthritis in middle-aged and elderly populations and represents a serious degenerative joint condition. Methylsulfonylmethane MSM is a widely used dietary supplement, either alone or in combination with other nutrients, and has been reported to exhibit therapeutic benefits in the management of arthritis. Bioactive materials such as hydroxyapatite HAp and other calcium phosphates have gained significant attention as advanced pharmaceutical carriers due to their combined drug delivery potential and enhanced osteoconductivity. In this study, MSM doped HAp nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via the costeffective and controllable wet precipitation method. Structural characterization utilizing XRD and FTIR confirmed the nanometer size of the material and the successful incorporation of MSM into the HAp matrix while maintaining the core crystal structure.
