Özet

This paper presents a comparative performance analysis of SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) NOR, Quad SPI (QSPI) NOR, and Parallel NOR flash memory technologies in conjunction with the ERTEC 200P-3 microcontroller. The ERTEC 200P-3, an ARM-based controller developed by Siemens, is specifically designed for PROFINET industrial communication applications and is widely utilized in the PROFINET IO device market, encompassing products such as servo drives and I/O modules. The primary objective of this study is to assist manufacturers in selecting the most efficient and cost-effective flash memory solution for their PROFINET IO devices. The analysis evaluates critical performance metrics, including boot-up times, read/write speeds, and communication speeds, which directly influence system performance and responsiveness. Additionally, a cost analysis of the flash memory technologies is conducted to provide a comprehensive evaluation from both performance and economic perspectives.
