Introduction: This study is a qualitative study in which interpretive phenomenological analysis is used to
determine the difficulties experienced by cancer patients in the Covid-19 pandemic process.
Methods: Using maximum diversity sampling, 16 cancer patients were interviewed between 20 December 2020
and 25 February 2021. The data were collected using the online interview technique by making one-to-one
interviews with semi-structured interview forms.
Results: The difficulties of the patients related to the Covid 19 pandemic were grouped under three themes.
These themes are “emotional problems, economic problems and behavioral responses associated with Covid-19”.
Discussion and Conclusion: Cancer patients fear from transmission of Covid 19 virus; experienced a sense of
longing due to the quarantine process; faced with economic difficulties; the cleaning habits of the patients who
applied to traditional complementary methods for protection from the virus have changed.
