Günümüzde sağlık hizmetlerinde kalite, etkililik ve hasta güvenliği gibi kavramların giderek daha fazla önem kazanması, sağlık mesleklerinde mesleki yeterlilik ve yetkinlik düzeylerinin izlenmesini zorunlu hale getirmiştir. Küreselleşmenin, bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerindeki gelişimin ve sağlık hizmetlerinde değişen ihtiyaçların etkisiyle, sağlık profesyonellerinden yalnızca mesleki bilgi sahibi olmaları değil, aynı zamanda bu bilgiyi etkili bir biçimde kullanabilmeleri, etik ilkelere uygun hareket edebilmeleri, kendilerini sürekli geliştirebilmeleri ve dijitalleşmeye uyum sağlayabilmeleri beklenmektedir. Bu bağlamda, diyetisyenlik mesleği de disipliner yapısını güçlendiren, bilim temelli uygulamaları önceleyen ve mesleki standartlarını geliştiren bir profesyonelleşme süreci içerisindedir. Tedavi ve rehabilite edici diyetetik hizmetlerden, koruyucu toplum beslenmesi, beslenme bilimi ve toplu beslenme sistemlerine uzanan geniş bir çalışma alanına sahip diyetisyenler için, sahip olunması gereken bilgi, beceri ve tutumların sistemli bir şekilde tanımlanması ve izlenmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, diyetisyenlikte mesleki yetkinlik izlem sisteminin oluşturulmasının gerekliliği ele alınmakta, Türkiye’deki güncel durum değerlendirilmekte ve uygulanabilir bir sistemin temel yapı taşları tartışılmaktadır.
In the contemporary healthcare environment, there is an increasing emphasis on concepts such as quality, effectiveness, and patient safety. This has led to the need for systematic monitoring of professional competencies and proficiency levels within healthcare professions. The contemporary healthcare environment is characterized by a confluence of factors, including the impact of globalization, advancements in information and communication technologies, and evolving needs within healthcare services. Consequently, health professionals are expected not only to possess specialized professional knowledge but also to effectively utilize this knowledge, act in accordance with ethical principles, continuously engage in professional development, and adapt to digitalization. In this context, the dietitian profession is undergoing a process of professionalization that emphasizes the strengthening of its disciplinary structure, the prioritization of evidence-based practices, and the enhancement of professional standards. From therapeutic and rehabilitative dietetic services to public health nutrition, nutritional science, and institutional food service systems, dietitians operate across a broad spectrum; therefore, the systematic definition and monitoring of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they are expected to possess is of great importance. This study is concerned with the necessity of establishing a professional competency monitoring system for dietitians. It evaluates the current situation in Türkiye and discusses the foundational components necessary for an implementable system.
