Özet

This study is a product of reading efforts of the "Oguz Kagan" and the "An-Haan" epics in terms of civilization process. In this study first, the information about the fundamentals of civilization process from Will Durant's perspective are brought up and then An-Haan and Oguz Kagan epics are considered in order within the context of primitive's civilization process. Besides, the knowledge of the primitive's needs to survive in this world is determined according to the mentioned epics. Readings indicates that both of these epics also reflect human being's progress from "simple" to "developed" and "civilized" situations as the way scientists asserted today. As a result, it is pointed out in the paper that the researchers of culture and civilization can benefit from some mythic and heroic epics during, their researches.
