Bu araştırmada, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Uygulamalarının ortaokul öğrencilerinin
kavramsal anlamalarına ve bilimsel yaratıcılıklarına etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırma kapsamında STEM
Uygulamaları, fen eğitiminde mevcut eğitim programlarında kullanılan STEM yaklaşımının eksik yönlerini ele alarak daha
geniş disiplinlerin entegrasyonunu sağlayacak çalışmalara olanak verecektir. Bu anlayışı sınıflarına taşımak ve farklı bakış
açıları kazanmak isteyen fen bilimleri öğretmenlerine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Kontrol grubunda 12 öğrenci,
deney grubunda 12 öğrenci yer almıştır. Kontrol grubunda dersler araştırma-sorgulama tabanlı, MEB Fen Bilimleri dersi
In this research, the aim is to explore the effects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) applications on
middle school students in terms of their conceptual understanding and scientific creativity. In this study, it is aimed to find
the insufficient parts of current STEM approach used in science education today with the help of STEM applications and to
allow further studies that will combine broader disciplines. It is believed to contribute a lot to science teachers who want to
bring this vision to their classes as well as introduce different perspectives. Twelve students took part in a control group and
twelve students took part in experimental group. While in control group, the lessons were taught in a parallel way with the
current Science Lesson Programmes and techniques based on research and inquiry, in experimental group activities that
were compatible with the MEB curriculum outcomes based on STEM approaches. In the study, Conceptual Understanding
Test was used which was prepared by the researcher for the Conceptual Understanding variable related to science field. In
experimental group to find the Scientific Creativity Variable the document obtained during the process with the “Scientific
Creativity Problems”, “Design Materials”, “Visual Material Presentation” were analysed with the ‘Scientific Creativity
Rubric and Material Evaluation Rubric’. According to the findings, positive developments were determined in the
conceptual understanding and scientific creativity skills of the students with low success level and low interest in the lesson
within the scope of "Force and Energy", "Interaction of Light with Matter" units.
