Abstract

This study is related to the bovine hydroxyapatite (BHA)-lithium aluminate (LiAlO2) composites. BHA without LiAlO2 reached to density of 2.86 gr/cm3 , hardness of 4.19 GPa and compressive strength of 115.75 MPa, when it was sintered at 1300oC. The compressive strength of 115.75 MPa for BHA increased to 218.33 MPa when it was doped by 5wt% α-LiAlO2 after sintering at 1200oC
