Özet

Data were acquired from 85 ready wear business enterprises that were member to the İstanbul Unions of Ready Wear and Ready-Made Exporters (İURRE) via questionnaire for the purpose of investigating the knowledge and practice expectations of Ready Wear business enterprises from Vocational High School (VHS) Wear Manufacturing graduates to be employed. As a result of the data analysis, it was concluded that having professional knowledge like determining fabrics and their properties, product quality and appropriate pattern techniques for clothes was among the important criteria for ready wear business enterprises, whereas knowing clothe adornment techniques and materials, maintenance-repairment of machines and devices used in wear manufacturing and simple breakdown of machines was among the less important criteria. It was also concluded that having a tendency to team work, paying attention to the relations with colleagues and superiors and distinguishing the fabrics from each other were among the important criteria in terms of the expectations of business enterprises from the application of professional knowledge, whereas trying to implement the innovations in Wear Manufacturing (like new machines, equipments) into the business and applying professional knowledge like working on the appropriate wear adornment techniques and removing simple breakdown of machines and devices were among the important criteria.
