This study is an exploratory study to investigate the levels of recognition of the most commonly used technical textiles terms for textiles branches by university students in the department of Textile Technology. For this purpose, a series of vocabulary lists related to each branch of the discipline were created by interviewing the specialist and educated people in different branches of textile. The levels of recognition are measured at five levels. Responses are rated on the scale from 1 to 5: I have never heard it, I’ve heard it before but cannot say anything about that, I can say a few words about it, I have enough information to explain it and I know it exactly.
