Özet

Objective: To investigate the associations between sleep disturbances, anxiety, and OHRQoL in children during the mixed dentition period. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 100 children aged 7-12 years. Sleep disturbances were assessed using the Sleep Disturbance Scale for Children (SDSC), anxiety using the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED) and OHRQoL using the Child Oral Health Impact Profile - Short Form (COHIP-SF-19). Spearman’s correlation and multivariable regression analyses were performed. Results: Sleep disturbances were identified in 42% of the participants. SDSC scores were positively correlated with anxiety (rho = 0.43) and OHRQoL (rho = 0.34). In multivariable analysis, anxiety showed independent association with sleep disturbance severity. Conclusion: Sleep disturbances in children are closely associated with anxiety and perceived oral health impacts highlighting the importance of early identification and multidiciplinary management.
