Özet

Fruit motifs in architectural decoration has been appeared from Umayyad period In the Islamic civilization. Islam discourages representative arts, therefore Islamic artists turned to make the pictures of the nature. Within this frame fruit motifs in Iznik tiles began to appear as a spring leaves in XVI. century and continued to be used in tile plate for many years. In the last quarter of XVI. century spring leaves turned into fruits. The fruits used in Iznik tiles are grape, orange and pomegranate. The variety of flowers can not be seen in fruits. After the first quarter of XVII. century, fruit motifs in architectural decoration used mostly in public fountains, grave stones and wall painting.
